Barrett Station Golf Club

A few members of the BSTGC played a round at Herman Park(Oct 13th) in the medical center. It was a beatiful 84 degree day, without a cloud in the sky. Members included; Lance Carrier, Rock Alfred, Percy Broussard, Jamie Hudson, and Henry Stevenson. At the end of the day Jamie Hudson earned a the free round of golf posting a score of 88.

The BSTGC held it’s “British Open” on July 31st at The Links at Westfork golf course in Conroe, TX. The links course was in perfect condition as six of the BSTGC’s finest headed out including US Open champ Percy Broussard. At the turn it was clear that Percy would not be winning his second major tournament of the year falling behind by thirteen strokes. The final group consisted of Roland Flannel, Jamie Hudson and leader Lance Carrier. When the smoke cleared on the nearly 100 degree day, Lance Carrier was able to come away with the victory with Roland Flannel and Percy Broussard finishing second and third respectfully. Mario Windfont took home the closest to the pin trophy, with Henry Stevenson picking up the trophy for the longest drive. Though Henry had a beautiful drive to win on the 18th fairway, it didn’t help him in the standings. Henry Stevenson pick up the “SMC” trophy making him the first back to back “SMC” in BSTGC history.

The BSTGC will host it’s British Open at “The Links at West Fork” Saturday (July 31st) in Conroe, TX. All participants must be there at 11:30. We were able to secure a group rate of $25 per person. The winner will receive the coveted “Clarett Jug”. Please contact Lance Carrier for more info. Hope to see you there.

The BSTGC held it’s US Open tournament at Cypresswood golf course on June 19, 2010.  It was a beautiful day as the group headed out with tee times of 7:15am, 7:22am and 7:29am respectfully. While the field consisted of only 10 members, competition was at it’s best. Cypresswood proved to be a challenging with favorites like Jason Parks, and Henry Stevenson shooting in the low 100′s.  At the end of the day Percy Broussard proved to be the man shooting a 92 giving him his first major title of the 2010 season. Charlie P. and Mario Windfont finished 2nd and 3rd respectfully. Percy also won the clossest to the pin trophy with Mike winning the longest drive trophy. Henry Stevenson came in as one of the favorites to win the tournament, but received the coveted “SMC” trophy instead. Better luck next time Henry!!!

Our monthly meeting will be this Thur at Jamie Hudson’s house at 5:30. We will discuss upcoming tournaments and club business. Jamie’s adress is 15831 sheldon ridge 77044. See you there!!!

The first major tournament is set for next Saturday April 17th 9:30am at Beacon Lakes. Green fees are $36 and there will be an additional $10 for tournament fees. Those members that have not paid dues can do so the morning of. Trophies will be awarded!!!
